Update from Korea!

2009 October 2
by Joe Davy

Well, I just touched down in Seoul South Korea, and I’m transferring out of here on my way to Bangkok.  Just a few observations:

First of all, Korean Airlines was AMAZING.  For a moderately priced ticket, I received complimentary drinks (including wine) throughout the flight.  Hot towels, sanitary wipes, and a great movie selection in flight.  All-in-all it was a very positive experience.

Swine Flu is obviously a big concern here in Seoul.  There are guards at every incoming gate with infrared cameras checking for sick passengers.  Also, security is a big concern here.  After coming in to Seoul (already having cleared security in the US) everyone was led through a second security terminal.  I had no problems, but roughly two out of three passengers were scanned with a metal detector wand and had their luggage searched.

The airport is very crowded and very nice.  I’ll attach some pictures when I’m able.

My laptop is now dying, but I have perfect phone signal and internet available everywhere!  Great so far.
